  19. January 1967 - EMI Studios: rehearsing + recording "A Day in the Life"

I have tried to group the photos together by sequences but the order is guesswork,
some photos make no sense in the place they are now. Anyway, roughly there are
4 sequences:

- Keyboards side by side
- Keyboards at angle
- Organ with alarm-clock
- John on acoustic guitar

It should be noted that the Beatles still seem to be rehearsing / working out the song on most
of the photos here. In the second sequence they wear headphones, so they might have
recorded some of the rehearsals (probably erased later).

For the recording of the proper takes 1-4 t
he set-up they will be different:
John will play acoustic guitar and sing (so the fourth sequence might be from the actual takes),
Paul will play piano (as seen in the odd-one-out photo of the third sequence),
Ringo will change to bongos (instead congas) and George will shake maracas.

Paul on drums Same as #4 in the next row? Watch out for Paul`s ciggie!

With Neil With Neil and Mal   George sits down and Ringo looks on... ... standing by John

Ringo joins in on Congas

Taken from the DISC issue, right.

George and Paul

Close-ups of Ringo behing congas

John took off his jacket, George Martin joined Possibly also from this session/sequence - GM in background.

The instruments are in a different position for these photos.
George standing (having taken off his jacket)
Ringo now with headphones too George is seated now.

John handing Paul a sheet of lyrics? Same as what is lying on the organ in above photo? Another close-up of Ringo

Paul placing the lyrics on the holder of the organ? Paul with headphones now, too. Still wearing his jacket?

Paul has taken off his jacket. But not wearing headphones.

Paul without headphones (no jacket?)

Later in the session? (see the glass) - no jacket and headphones back on. Could this be a opposite sides shot from the photo of John with guitar?

Headphones round the neck Paul and John switched position, Paul will also play piano for the proper takes.
Paul is wearing his jacket so this might actually belong somewhere else.
I think this belongs somewhere in this sequence.

Paul (with jacket) and John (without) discussing in front of the organ - the alarm clock will be used mark the beginning of Paul`s middle part.

From the same sequence - with George Martin (wearing a coat!) and another clock in the forground? It`s hard to tell where this sequence belongs.

John on guitar. From the proper takes? This seems to be Paul in the foreground - playing what?

George at the same set-up. A shot from the other side? George and Paul - without jackets.

Miscellaneous individual photos - Paul with jacket, Ringo with with headphones, eating.

John without jacket...
